Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Rooted Pray Inc. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Rooted Pray mobile application, website at rootedpray.com, and all related services (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Rooted Pray provides:

• AI-powered spiritual guidance through biblical AI personas (Teachings of Christ, Anna, Ezra, Lydia, Barnabas, Timothy)
• Daily Bible verses, scripture reading plans, and study tools
• Prayer request creation, sharing, and community prayer circles
• AI-generated audio devotionals and spiritual content
• Community features including testimonies, events, and discussions
• Premium subscription features via in-app purchase

The AI spiritual guides are powered by large language models and are designed to provide scripture-based inspiration and guidance only. They are not a substitute for professional pastoral counseling, mental health services, or medical advice.

• You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at support@rootedpray.com of any unauthorized use of your account.
• We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
• One person may not maintain more than one account without our written permission.

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Post content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or promotes violence.
• Impersonate any person or entity, including religious figures or Rooted Pray staff.
• Share content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to access the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers, systems, or other users' accounts.
• Use the AI guides to generate content that contradicts core biblical values or spreads theological misinformation.
• Transmit spam, chain letters, or unsolicited commercial communications.
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or any software intended to damage the Service.

We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, at our sole discretion, without notice.

The AI spiritual guides within Rooted Pray are powered by third-party large language models (LLMs). While we design these guides to provide scripture-based, biblically-aligned responses, you understand and agree that:

• AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or not reflect official theological positions of any denomination.
• AI content is for inspirational and educational purposes only — not professional pastoral, psychological, or medical advice.
• You should always verify important theological questions with a qualified pastor or religious leader.
• We are not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content.
• Your conversations with AI guides may be used in anonymized form to improve the Service (see Privacy Policy).

6.1 Free & Premium Plans

Rooted Pray offers a free tier and optional paid subscriptions ("Disciple Monthly" at $6.99/month and "Disciple Yearly" at $69.99/year).

6.2 Billing

• Subscriptions are billed through Google Play (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS) and managed via RevenueCat.
• Payment is charged to your Google Play or Apple account upon confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
• We do not store your payment card information on our servers.

6.3 Cancellation & Refunds

• Cancel anytime through your Google Play or App Store account settings.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
• Refunds are subject to the refund policies of Google Play and Apple App Store.
• Coupon codes are one-time use, non-transferable, and have no cash value.

6.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will notify you at least 30 days in advance via email and in-app notice. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.

You may submit prayer requests, testimonies, community posts, notes, and other content ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant Rooted Pray Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

You represent that:

• You own or have the right to share all User Content you submit.
• Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.
• Public prayer requests and testimonies are visible to other users — do not share sensitive personal information publicly.

We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms, without notice or liability.

All content, features, design, logos, trademarks, and technology in the Service are owned by Rooted Pray Inc. or licensed to us and are protected by US and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our content without our express written permission.

Bible text displayed in the App may be sourced from various Bible translations. All scripture quotations are used under applicable licenses. Rooted Pray does not claim ownership of Bible text.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) AI responses will be accurate or complete; (c) defects will be corrected; or (d) the Service is free of viruses or harmful components.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ROOTED PRAY INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rooted Pray Inc. and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases.

You may delete your account at any time by going to Settings → Delete Account in the App, or by emailing support@rootedpray.com. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association (AAA) rules, conducted in English in the United States.

Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action.

EU/UK Users: Nothing in this section limits your rights under applicable EU or UK consumer protection laws, including your right to bring claims before your local courts.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
• Sending an email to your registered address.
• Displaying an in-app notice.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
